Rojales is a municipality of the Valencian Community, Spain. Located in the province of Alicante, in the region of Vega Baja del Segura, on the banks of the Segura River, which crosses the traditional nucleus along two kilometers on its last route before emptying into the Mediterranean, a fact that justifies the existence of a beautiful bridge of ashlar masonry built in the time of King Carlos III, in the s. XVIII, magnificently preserved and fully in use.
It has 20,510 inhabitants (INE 2009), most of whom reside in Ciudad Quesada (11,513 inhabitants1). Rojales is the second Spanish municipality with the highest percentage of foreigners, which constitute 71.75% of the registered population. As a result of this, English is the most spoken language in the municipality.
